In the Spotlight: When allergy sufferers start coughing again at the Prater
The pollen season is reaching its peak with birch pollen, affecting around 1.7 million people in Austria. Symptoms range from annoying hay fever to severe shortness of breath, which significantly reduces quality of life. Maria Harmer discusses with Prof. Erika Jensen-Jarolim, AllergyCare®, and Markus Berger (Austrian Pollen Information Service) how those affected can recognize allergies and receive proper treatment, and how avoidance measures and proper nutrition can alleviate symptoms during allergy season.
